Indonesia is undeniably one of the planet’s richest countries in terms of natural resources, from its living jungles, abundant fisheries and unsurpassed supply of minerals.
It is also a powerhouse — Southeast Asia’s largest economy and a member of the G20, reflecting its growing global importance. Yet 25 million of Indonesia’s 267 million citizens still live below the poverty line of $32 US per month, while another 50 million barely live above it.
This is why Indonesia believes it must develop its natural resources for Indonesians — while protecting the sustainability of its natural world and future economy. Batik Resources, located in Vancouver, Canada, is part of this strategy for responsible economic, social and environmental development for Indonesians.
We are bringing together a proven group of leaders in mining, with deep knowledge and in-country experience, to found Batik Resources and assemble a collection of gold-focused resource properties. We plan to reward investors and Indonesians not simply with strong returns — but also with the jobs, local reinvestment and ongoing stewardship of the environment that Indonesians and the world’s ethical investors expect.
